For this piece I am taking inspiration from the wild orange poppies that grow in the area. So bright and beautiful and they will pop up and survive just about anywhere.

The fish of the garden in this piece are going to be goldfish, a beautiful compliment to the poppies. This piece represents the homeless in the desert areas. You see in order to be successful at being homeless you have to appear to not be homeless otherwise you will be asked to leave, move on. The gold fish are perfect for this as they are trapped in performance all the time placed in bowls. Without water, food, clothing, etc. you are expected to be presentable no matter the story that brought you there. You try to be ok and smile smile smile to try to get someone to help you. You are now trapped in performance if you wish to get housed again.
